Mitutoyo Continues Partnership with STEM Racing for the 2025 World Finals
Mitutoyo, the world's leading manufacturer of precision measuring equipment, is proud to announce the continuation of our partnership with STEM Racing, the prestigious global STEM education challenge. This renewed collaboration underscores our unwavering commitment to fostering excellence, precision, and the development of the next generation of engineers and innovators.
Elevating Precision in Global STEM Education
Formerly known as F1 in Schools, STEM Racing empowers bright young minds from across the globe to design, engineer, and race miniature Formula 1 cars. The pinnacle of this challenge, the Aramco STEM Racing World Finals 2025, will be held from 27 September to 2 October 2025, at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. We are thrilled to support over 90 student teams representing more than 30 countries as they showcase their ingenuity and technical prowess.
Mitutoyo's Crucial Role in Ensuring Fairness and Accuracy
Our continued support significantly strengthens the technical foundation of the event, specifically during the scrutineering phase. This crucial inspection process reflects the stringent standards of a real Formula 1 Grand Prix, with each team's car undergoing thorough examination under Parc Fermé conditions. Utilizing Mitutoyo's top-of-the-line equipment, scrutineers assess every car for dimensional integrity and accuracy, ensuring compliance with strict regulations.
Tools such as vernier calipers, digimatic scales, and other advanced metrology instruments are employed to measure each car to millimeter-level accuracy. This unparalleled technical precision is vital for determining technical compliance and maintaining fairness in the competition. Teams also gain invaluable firsthand experience by observing this process, providing them with real-world insight into professional engineering practices.
Empowering Students Through Metrology Education
In the lead-up to the World Finals, participating teams benefit from exclusive access to the Mitutoyo eLearning platform. This comprehensive digital resource offers in-depth training on metrology principles, measurement techniques, and tool handling. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ understanding and skills, equipping them with the knowledge necessary for the crucial scrutineering judging.
A Shared Vision for Tomorrow's Innovators
Takashi Matsuike, Managing Director of Mitutoyo Asia Pacific, emphasizes the profound impact of this event: "The Aramco STEM Racing World Finals is crucial for developing the next generation of engineers and innovators. The training and experience gained today are vital for tomorrow's industry success. The Finals also provide an excellent platform for us to highlight the practical applications of metrology and showcase the essential tools and equipment that drive it."
Andrew Denford, Founder and CEO of F1 in Schools, also shared his perspective: “We are proud to have the continued support of Mitutoyo, a global leader in precision engineering. Accurate measurement is at the core of all great engineering—whether it’s a full-scale Formula 1 car or our scale racing models. With Mitutoyo’s tools and expertise, we ensure a level playing field and inspire students to adopt the highest standards of technical excellence.”
